Runescape Best F2p Money Making 2012

There are loads of great ways of making money but especially in F2p it can get boring. I'm sure you've come to find out how to make money fast. Well here's a number of methods:

The only best way of making money is to have a high skill in the skill you are going to do to get money, for example 60+ fishing will make you catch lobsters quicker, it may be a long process but it is worth it in the long run

First of all, you would've probably come across loads of websites showing how to make cash like mining

rune essence and air running, but these in my opinion are the not very good as they are so long and repetitive. I'm not saying they are bad, however say you get 1k rune essence, that's a lot and you'll only get say about 22k. Getting the 1k takes a long time and many people give up halfway. Air running can be good but it's also a long and tiresome process.

1) Mining

Mining in my opinion isn't that great as you have to keep checking and there is also constant competition over the ores. The best ore for F2P is iron ore and if you have a high mining level then maybe mithril, adamantite and runite. But generally iron is better for a number of reasons. Recently the price of iron has sky rocketed due to summoning and steel bars. It is almost near to coal. The second reason is because iron ore is easy to mine at a low level and respawns quickly too. Clay is another alternative to iron and can be equally good due to the increase of people making soft clay which is used in members worlds but this is more recommended for lower levels.

2) Fishing

Many say fishing is bad however if your one of those people who can't stay focused then this could be a skill good for you. Lobsters aren't as efficient but the balanced choice for fishing exp and money because although swordfish are worth more, you usually get a lot of tuna along with them. Don't get confused by swordfish gloves, they only increase exp not the overall catch rate. With fishing, you only have to check every once in a while to switch fishing spots or bank. For F2P it is highly recommended to bring nothing but 30gp and a lobster pot as well as an explorers ring 3 as it is extremely useful for carrying that extra lobster when you run to Stiles to note the fish. If you want to use this as a money making method, then lobsters/swordfish are the best choice.

3) Woodcutting

This could possibly take a while as you need at least 60 woodcutting to chop yews. Don't listen to people who say you need 70 woodcutting to properly cut yews. 60 is enough as getting 70+ by cutting willows only so you can do yews will waste too much time. Although yews take a while to respawn and are crowded, you should find a suitable place and world, i prefer the one near draynor or the ones near the Grand Exchange, but these are sometimes crowded, and similarly to fishing you only have to check every once in a while. You could also try the servers which are in French and German since there are fewer people cannot access these worlds.

4) Edgeville Dungeon

Edgeville dungeon requires a brass key to go through the shortcut and contains hill giants which drop big bones. They also drop runes and limpwurt roots which are worth a lot . But these can often be crowded so speed is of the essence, after a full inventory you can sell at the grand exchange or bank them before selling in bulk. But this isn't all, many people ignore what else is in the dungeon. Hobgoblins have a high chance of dropping limpwurt roots and you can make around 80k per inventory if you get enough. But this can sometimes be long and tedious as they don't always drop them. ( the lv 28s are more likely to drop limpwurt roots) Since the release of resource dungeons, the price of limpwurt roots has fallen so

you may wish to stick to hill giants.

5) Demons

If you are a high level then you should train on either lessers or greaters depending on your combat level. Greaters tend to drop rarer items including rune full helmets and adamant platelegs. I myself have managed to gain 3 rune full helmets from fighting these once. They can be found in Crandor and Karamja. These are relatively quiet spots with the ones at Crandor almost empty. An alternative to demon killing on Crandor would be killing moss giants which drop big bones and provide decent experience.

6) Cockroach Soldiers

The player stronghold of safety contains loads of cockroaches. If you go north of barbarian village you will come across a crevice where you can go down and fight the cockroach solders. There is also a lever which you pull to go through the jail door leading to more soldiers which are normally uncrowded. Cockroach soldiers are lv 83 and can hit melee 8 and ranged 11. The main area has 3 soldiers and is multi combat so be wary of players killing them and stealing your kills. These monsters have good drops such as rune scimitars and rune square shields as well as noted ore like mithril and admantine.

7) Minigames

There are lots of minigames which can be helpful to you for making money. Though most are in member worlds, games such as Fist of Guthix can earn you cash as well as experience. By doing Fist of Guthix, you can rank higher while gaining tokens to spend on rewards such as rune beserker shields or rune gauntlets. These can then be turned to worn equipment and sold for a small fortune. Other minigames include staking in the Duel Arena or in Clan wars. These are very risky and I don't advise using these 2 methods unless you are very skilled and know what you are doing. However, these minigames could also get you to millions if you play right.

8) Merchanting

Here's a little advice covered in the mini merchanting guide.

Merchanting can be the best or the worst way of making money, the golden rule to merchanting is to never ever join a merchanting clan, they scam you, think logically if everyone rapidly buys max price and then sells when the price goes up, who's going to buy them once the prices are high? If you choose to do this risky business then try merchanting yourself. Look at the Grand Exchange on the runescape main page daily and see what goes up and down. This requires a great deal of patience but in the end can be very rewarding, however be aware you could end up losing millions if you don't merchant properly, try mediocre items like rune items rather than jumping into small items like runes as they take a while to buy or sell in truckloads. Likewise don't jump into rare items like santa hats as you may be buying at peak time when the price is high without knowing it.

Overall those are the ways in which i made my money, although i used to merchant before the Grand Exchange was made. The best technique is to try all of these things rather than stick to one skill. Try doing a range of methods so you don't get bored, and take a break once in a while. Hopefully you too will become rich with these techniques and if you become a member the doors open even wider for you in making money.

There are various other methods but I have listed the ways which i managed to make my money. If you have found it helpful, please like and comment on how I can improve.
