Runescape Woodcutting Guide F2p/p2p 2012

For your sake, I'm sure you've come not looking for a 1 - 99 guide, rather a guide on how to use woodcutting to its best for money making and levelling. For this reason, I will not go through the low levelled trees. One tip you can take away from this guide before you begin is that if your location is busy, always try and find a less populated world, whether your woodcutting for money or experience. It is much more worth finding a less populated world than a busy world in the long term. If you are finding it

difficult though, then a different server like the French or German server is ideal as these are often always empty.

Making Money From Woodcutting

F2P Method:

Oaks are a surprisingly good method of making money. They are worth much more than willows and cutting them from Draynor Village is a useful way to get a large amount of money, especially at low levels.

Once you are 60 woodcutting, it is up to you to determine whether or not you should move onto yews, as some find it too slow while others don't mind the rate at which they gain logs. Once 65 and with a rune hatchet, however, there should be no stopping you from getting yews. The best locations would be near the Grand Exchange, though this may sometimes be packed. Other good locations include outside Lumbridge and the road leading to Rimmington from Draynor. These are all good locations but the Grand Exchange Yews are the best. Getting money from this way could give you around 120k per hour depending on lag, level and business.

P2P Method:

The first few steps mirror the F2P method, however as you are a member, there are a much more variety of methods open to you.

Ivy

Once you are at 68, ivy becomes available. This may seem to be boring and more of an experience based reason for cutting it, but if you wear a lucky rabbit foot necklace and a ring of wealth, you're very likely to get birds nest which vary in rewards from simple seeds to rare magic seeds and bird eggs. This is a good way of getting money because you don't need to pay much attention and you can also tell if you have got a birds nest from the sound effect. Dragon hatchet is strongly recommended but equally good for experience is to use a sacred clay hatchet.

Yew And Magic Logs

As a member, you have the benefit of better hatchets and better locations to cut yew trees. I recommend the area near Catherby or near Grand Exchange as it will be less busy on a member world.

Once you reach the required level to cut magic trees, these can become the best money maker for woodcutting. You can easily make 200k+ per hour in a quiet area with a dragon hatchet. Though these are slow, it's recommended to use a familiar to maximise profits. This can either be in the form of a beast of burden or a skill increasing familiar for woodcutting.

Further Methods

The evil tree mini game occurs every once in a while, and it's useful to check with the spirit tree as the

rewards are fairly good giving you seeds and other items.

One of the best methods for those who don't do much is the Kingdom of Miscellinia. This requires the completion of 2 quests to get the best profits, but it is possible to get 1 million per week for doing minimal work.
Experience From Woodcutting

F2P Method:

Unfortunately, if you want the fastest possible experience, you're stuck with willows. You can either bank or drop the logs, it's up to you. However, if you are banking, I recommend the trees near Draynor Village, whereas for dropping the logs, the best locations would be North of Port Sarim and near Rimmington as these are very quiet.

You could try training with oaks or yews, however these are either too slow or do not give enough experience per hour. Yews are useful if you are very high levelled and may be worth doing if you want to make profit along the way to 99.

P2P Method:

Ivy

As I have mentioned previously, choked ivy is probably one of the best methods of getting experience. As well as being able to AFK train easily, these have a high respawn rate and there are spots almost everywhere so you'll always find a quiet location. Birds nests and seed rewards are always an incentive to use this method for training, and you could also use sacred clay hatchets for even more experience, though this may not be worth it if you are high levelled and have a dragon hatchet. The fact that you get no logs is also a bonus as you can remain in one place for a long period of time.

Maple Trees

Maple trees aren't such a bad alternative, though you do need to bank them. I don't recommend these, but they are not bad if you are bored of ivy cutting. If you are banking, then the best location would be in Seers Village where the trees are very close to the bank.

Yew And Magic Trees

Yews and magic trees would be discouraged, but you could use them at very high levels along with a familiar to gain decent experience as well as money.

Further Methods

The further methods are the same as those I listed in the money making method. However, if you really don't feel like actually woodcutting, then you can use other methods including mini games. Quest rewards are also handy, and there are lots of mini games where you could try to get woodcutting experience.

I hope this guide helped you. Please like and comment for improvements.
